#GirlsWeekendGetaway - Jawa Timur Park 3

[Read the first part of #GirlsWeekendGetaway in this post]

With the tummy fully fuelled, we headed to Jatim Park 3 in Batu. It's a one hour drive from heart of Malang, but we were so lucky that there was no traffic jam, so we needed only around 45 mins to reach Jawa Timur (Jatim) Park 3. Jatim Park 3 itself consists of several parks; the famous one is the DinoPark, where you can learn the history of Dinosaurs and enjoy the attractions, another one is The Legend Star, where you can meet the world's famous figures a.k.a its wax sculpture. Janet and I were not a big fan for Dinosaurs history, so we queued for the second one.

The concept of The Legend Star is quite unique. They divided the area into several sections with each section is specifically decorated with a country's characteristic. I might say that the decorations are very thoughtful, they pay attention to details to ensure every aspect or ornament really represents the country. Of course sometimes the details can be hit-or-miss, but in overall I can say that they nailed it!

Scroll down for pictures! Can you guess the countries from pictures we managed to take?

If you guessed Indonesia, Amsterdam, India, China, and Japan, you are right! Actually there were more countries set up available like the US and South Korea, but I didn't capture any appropriate pictures there :p

My personal favorite? Japan FTW!
The Japan area not only has beautiful decorations, but also allows us to rent Japanese yukata to level up your pictures! There were several choices of yukata depending on your height and preference. We can choose the robe and the shop-keeper will give the matching belt/obi. Once we changed to the yukata (we cover our clothes with the yukata), the shop-keeper will help to do your hair. When all set, you can wander around the area and snap tons of pictures with the cute Japanese set ups.
It cost 50k IDR to rent the yukata for 20 minutes. If your return late to the shop, you will be charged for another 20 minutes. So the choice is to return to the shop earlier to avoid extra charges or if you already know you'll be late, just spend another 20 minutes and snap more pictures📸

Here are my tips for you who want to rent the yukata: wear light clothes with low neckline and bring white socks! The light clothes will make you less bulky since we will still wear it underneath the yukata. The low neckline will ensure your clothes don't peek out from the yukata neckline. For the socks, you will be lent a pair of wooden sandals and it looks best if you wear white socks underneath. Capture these tips and thank me later😉

I think we spent around 4 hours in Jatim Park 3 snapping pictures and then found ourselves struggling to choose which pictures to post lol. This place would be best for you who love to take picture like us (read: narcissistic) and confident to pose in the public (read: shameless) lol. But really, play with your imagination and creativity while posing! Because a still passport photo style in Jatim Park 3 won't be fun😊
Hope this post is useful for your trip to Jatim Park 3 since the holiday season is coming soon. Enjoy your trip! xx
